People want to be effective in their lives. We all want to learn how to be loving, engaged, and productive. If we have a problem, if we feel anxious or panicky, if we feel depressed, or if we are going through a major life change, we all want to know why and how to fix it quickly and efficiently. We all want to flourish, to have good feelings, have good relationships, to achieve our goals, and to be engaged fully with life.
Sometimes life gives us more than we feel like we can handle on our own. This is where I can help. While solving problems relating to depression, anxiety, grief, loss, or another major life change are never simple, I will help you by listening, by never giving up, and by giving you the knowledge and the tools you need to get the most out of life.
I have decades of experience helping people with life’s challenges. I have training as a marriage and family therapist as well as a psychologist. I also have more than 20 years of experience in educating primary care physicians and have intimate knowledge of how medical and psychological problems intersect and affect each other. Finally, I know that creating meaning, engaging in positive activities, and knowing and using our strengths will complement treatment and on occasion actually solve problems that look like depression.
My clients typically want convenient, cost-conscious, responsive help. That’s why my office takes most major insurance policies (we bill the insurance company for you) and co-pays can be met with credit cards, checks or cash. I place a premium on empathy, getting direct feedback on our effectiveness, and seeking to listen and understand fully in order to speed results.
If you are considering counseling or therapy to help with anxiety, depression, or a life change, I encourage you to contact me.
